Sometimes the part you need isn't in the system yet — here's how to add it. This walkthrough covers how to create a new part number in Sourcing Window, including which fields are required, how to filter by manufacturer, and a few key tips to make sure your request reaches the right vendors.

In this video, we'll show you how to quickly create a new part number when the one you need doesn't appear in the search results. Simply click the "Create New Part" button to get started. From here, fill out the required fields, including part number, description, manufacturer, and modality. Be sure to select the manufacturer first.
This will automatically filter the options to only those offered by that specific OEM. If you know the exact system the part is used for, you can enter it in the system field, but this step is optional. Once all required information is complete, click "Create Part." Providing accurate information helps us connect your requests with the right vendors.
Please avoid adding any leading zeros to your part number. And if you need a specific revision, just add that here in the "Notes" section of your request instead of in the part number or description fields. You can now continue building and submitting your request.
